Back in the swing…

Brilliant to be back rehearsing again today after a few months’ hiatus.  We’re starting to get a programme together for a return to Wakefield Cathedral in July, and are delighted to welcome Becky, who will be playing tenor with us.  The setlist is shaping up well already, with some great new material alongside a few old favourites: we’re looking forward to sharing it all with an audience!

What ho, Jeeves!

The first of our new studio recordings is now out!  An arrangement made specially for Saxofonie of Anne Dudley’s evocative and catchy jazz-era theme for ITV’s classic series “Jeeves and Wooster”.  If this doesn’t cheer up a dark December evening, nothing will!

Take 4 (players)…

If the weather forecast remains on track, we’ll be on the streets of central York this coming Sunday 19 December from about 1 pm for a couple of hours of favourite Yuletide tunes and carols. To get you in the mood, how about a reminder of this gem from last year’s festive video highlights?

Getting it together…

Another fab rehearsal this afternoon, pulling together repertoire for a spot of busking (we hope!) on 5th August in central York.  Great to be brushing up some old favourites and polishing a load of new material as well.  If the sun shines (or if it doesn’t rain, at least), we should be ready with some … Read more

We’re back!

Had a truly wonderful in-person rehearsal last weekend, despite having to stay socially distanced. Such an absolute joy to be able to play together after nearly 15 months of being stuck at home with just a microphone and a click track for company!! We played through about a dozen new pieces which we’ve acquired or … Read more
