Privacy Policy

Who we are

Our website address is: https://www.saxofonie.net.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Booking  and other enquiries

If you get in touch with us through our Booking Enquiry form, we will collect your name, email address, phone number (optional) and brief details of the function / event for which you may wish to book us.  This information is collected so that we can respond to your enquiry.

If you contact us by email, we will collect your email address and any other personal data which you include in your email. This information is collected so that we can respond to your message.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

We use Google reCaptcha in connection with our Booking Enquiry form to reduce spam to our site.  If you contact us through the form, Google will set a reCaptcha cookie when verifying your enquiry as genuine.  These cookies use an unique identifier for tracking purposes.

Any other cookies set are purely temporary session cookies. They contain no personal data and are discarded when you close your browser.

Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. YouTube videos). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you had visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Security logs

The IP addresses of visitors are conditionally logged to check for malicious activity and to protect the site from specific kinds of attacks. Examples of conditions when logging occurs include login attempts, log out requests, requests for suspicious URLs, changes to site content, and password updates. This information is retained for 60 days.

Who we share your data with

This site is scanned for potential malware and vulnerabilities by Sucuri’s SiteCheck. We do not send personal information to Sucuri; however, Sucuri could find personal information posted publicly (such as in comments) during their scan. For more details, please see Sucuri’s privacy policy.

Visitor comments and information entered into our Booking Enquiry form may be checked through automated spam detection services provided by Akismet and Google reCaptcha. For more information, please see Akismet’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If you decide to book Saxofonie for an event, data provided via the booking enquiry form and any subsequent email correspondence will be retained until the event is over and any payment for our services has been made.  Where you make an enquiry but subsequently decide not to proceed with a booking, data provided in connection with the enquiry will be deleted.

If you contact us by email for any other reason, data provided to us will be retained for as long as is needed to respond to your enquiry fully.

Security logs are retained for 60 days.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

As described above (see “Who we share your data with”), data entered on this site may be shared with various third party service providers to protect our site against malware, cyber attack and spam.  Our web hosting service may also use cloud-based storage providers.  Where based outside the UK or EU, those providers have undertaken to comply with relevant data protection laws, including GDPR, in any processing of such data.

How we protect your data

Our site is protected by a SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate issued by Sectigo Ltd, which ensures that all traffic between our web server and your browser is encrypted and secure.
